However, life at Palm Woods Hotel and the adjoining school (exclusively for actors, singers & celebrities) throws up many challenges, and the boys get embroiled in all sorts of awkward situations & problems that give the series its comic angle. While the two seasons of the series deal with various lifestyle conflicts, there has been no such rocky journey for the boys on the music scene. B.T.R was released as the debut album on October 11, 2010, and Big Time Rush has followed that with a few charted singles as their star continues to rise.

The band’s eponymous debut single was released with video through the pilot episode, going on to peak at #16 on the Billboard Bubbling under Hot 100. Breaking into the mainstream charts was the next level & April 2010 saw “Halfway There” peak at #93 on the Billboard Hot 100. It was to open the floodgates, for “Famous” (a remake of Swedish band Play’s song), “City is ours” & “Till I Forget about You” made Big Time Rush famous before the debut album B.T.R came out in October 2010. It topped the Billboard Kid Albums charts & reached #3 on the Hot 200, picking up a sales record of 345,000 so far. An EP, Holiday Bundle, was released over the festive season. 2011 has seen “Big Night” chart at #79, while the band continues its upward spiral with a collaboration (“Boyfriend”) with Snoop Dogg. Big Time Rush has recently been nominated for the second successive year for the Kid’s Choice Award.
